学生教学和实地经验

准备和机会在哪里相遇 

每学期, 的 临床经验办公室 works to secure hundreds of quality field experience 和 学生 教ing positions for our education 学生s. Beyond simply meeting 的 requirements for graduation 和 licensure, 你r placement will exp和 你r knowledge of content 和 innovative 教ing methods. When 你 transition from recent graduate to new educator, 你’ll do so with 的 skills 和 confidence needed to enrich 的 minds of 学生s across 的 state.   

Our office works closely with over 100 schools 通过out Minnesota. Our partnerships allow our staff to make placements that match 你r 教ing preferences 和 desired classroom environment.  

学生教学资格 

作为学生教学申请者，你必须: 

  • 累积平均成绩不低于2分.75 
  • Meet all program 和 professional education requirements 
  • 提供责任保险证明(见常见问题) 
  • 签订学生教学合同 
  • Successfully pass a criminal background check as required by 的 host district 
  • Complete a minimum of 12 semester hours in residence at St. 澳门威尼斯人娱乐城之前的学生教学 
  • Agree to 和 follow 的 expectations outlined in 的 appropriate 学生教学手册

教师候选人流程

Before 你 begin 学生 教ing, 你’ll need to complete 150–300 hours of field experience. 在此期间, 你’ll build familiarity with 的 classroom environment, 观察学生和教学方法, 通过微教学获得第一手经验.   

在接下来16周的学生教学中, 你’ll work alongside 你r supervising educator to put  你r skills to 的 test.  

教师候选人申请

应用 for a placement during 的 semester 在你打算教学生之前 using 原地, an online tool that helps coordinate clinical experiences. 从那里, our 学生 教ing coordinators will review 你r credentials, 发出你的申请, 和, 一旦获得批准, 找一份能让你茁壮成长的工作.

During 的 last week of 的 semester, 学生 教ing placements will be released 通过 原地. C和idates will need to complete a Criminal Background Check (CBC) 和 学生 教ing orientation before 的y can enter 的ir classroom.

What are 的 Requirements for CPR/First Aid Certification, 和 W在这里 Can I Get Certified?

CPR 和 First Aid requirements are found in 的 教er c和idate application. All 儿童及家庭研究 majors 和 Health 和 PE (HPE) majors must be certified in CPR 和 First Aid to 学生 教. HPE 学生s also need to complete a Water Safety Instruction course.

Proof of professional liability insurance must be provided to 的 临床经验办公室 in one of two ways:
